Autumn is here!
In Japan, fall is a season full of festivals where people give thanks for the harvest and celebrate the blessings of nature.

In the Onohara area, there’s the Onohara Festival at Kasuga Shrine.
The /mikoshi/ (神輿portable shrine) will be carried along the old Saigoku Highway, 旧西国街道, a historic road that connected Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) during the Edo period. At Onohara Park, there will also be lots of food stalls and festival booths.

This year, we’re also looking for people to help carry the /mikoshi/!
Festival outfits like /happi/ coats will be provided.
(Please gather at the Onohara Kasuga Shrine grounds at *7:25 a.m. sharp*!)

If you’re interested, you can sign from the QR code on their IG.

There’s plenty of food and games at the stalls, so it’s guaranteed to be fun!

Also, some other annual events are coming up:

 *

*Saturday, November 8* – MAFGA Multicultural Festival in Onohara Nishi

 *

*Saturday, November 15* – Kayano Human Rights Otakara Festival in Kayano

We’ll keep you posted with more details soon, so please come and join us!

(And don’t forget—there are lots of other festivals happening around Minoh too, at shrines, temples, and even at Q’s Mall!)

Cheers,
