Dear Minoh JETs,

Happy Holidays!
I hope this email finds you well.

We would like to announce some notices regarding the winter vacation.

1. MAFGA Year-End/New Year Operating Schedule

There is no stationing at JET House on the final/first week of the year.
The next stationing at JET House after today is on Wednesday, January 8.

MAFGA staff is operating in the office in Onohara until Saturday, 
December 28.
If you have anything you want to ask to MAFGA, we would be able to 
answer by email or face-to-face at Multi-Cultural Center in Onohara.
(We kindly would like to ask you to make an appointment beforehand if 
you are visiting us.)

We are closed until January 3, and be back on Saturday, January 4.
While we close the business, we are not checking the emails, so refer 
No.5 on this email in case of emergency.

2. Irregular Garbage Pickup Schedule

Last day of garbage pick up: Sunday, Dec. 30
First day of garbage pick up: Tuesday, Jan. 7

During the year-end/new-year holiday period, most municipal service 
offices are closed. City offices and libraries will be closed between 
Dec. 29 and Jan. 3. So the garbage pickup schedule will be different 
during the period. There is no collection on Friday, Jan. 2rd.

3. Doctors at Clinic Off for the year end/new year

Just like most of commercial services, medical doctors and clinics will 
be off during the year-end/new year holidays.
As the length of office closing is different by individual 
clinics/institutions.
For Example;
かのう内科クリニック(Kano Clinic) at Makiochi, near Auto Backs: closed 
Dec29-Jan5
やすふく内科クリニック(Yasufuku Clinic) near Minoh Station: closed 
Dec29-Jan5
Most of clinics in MInoh close from Dec 29 to Jan 5.

4. When You Need Medical Support During the Winter Break

If you have cold-like symptoms, you can get home test kit of flu/COVID 
at your nearby drug store(pharmacy).
Also, you can get OTC drugs there.

If you feel sick and want to see a doctor during Dec29-Jan5, ER of Minoh 
City Hospital is available 24/7.
When you visit ER, the additional fee of 5,500-7,700 yen is necessary.

Of course, when it is emergency, do not hesitate to use the 
ambulance(phone 119).

Nothing is better than asking for the above services, but your safety is 
the first priority, so seek for the best options you may take.

Please note that the room MAFGA can help is limited.
If you lost your key, wallet, or other items, we cannot help you even if 
you call us.
