I hope this email finds you well.

We are frequently asked about the phone bill after you returned from 
international travels.
Some received bills which is way higher than the regular billing.

MAFGA found out that most of these cases were caused by unintended data 
communication over docomo SIM outside Japan.
Even if you are using the SIM card issued in that country at the same 
time, it may be switched to docomo SIM accidentally, and cause 
international data transfer.
When you used data outside Japan, the plan rate is 2,980yen/DAY
https://www.docomo.ne.jp/service/world/roaming/giga-shihodai/

To avoid this, switch to "airplane mode", or to make it simple, just put 
out from your device.

There seem to be other reasonable plan for travelers, but they require 
application in advance.
