To those who have hanica (Hankyu bus commuter pass):

We hope you will make good use of your hanica. Some of you might already 
know this, but we will let you know some tips.

hanica uses a distance-based fare system. It only checks a distance 
(from a boarding point to a drop-off point).

For instance, if you have a hanica of 220yen-distance section, you can 
use it not only for your regular route, between home and school, but any 
route as long as a riding distance falling into 220yen-distance section. 
If you ride beyond 220yen-distance section, you need to pay a regular 
fare for the entire distance not only the distance you go beyond.

They offer benefits on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and 
special time table days (obon and new year season), if you ride beyond 
your distance section, you will pay 100yen only regardless of the 
distance you go beyond. If you ride with your blood relatives within the 
second degree of kinship, she/ he pays 100yen. Kids are free. There is 
no limit to the number of accompanying relatives.

To utilize this, you won't hold your hanica over a card reader neither 
at boarding nor getting off. When you get off, tell a driver that 
"おでかけわり" and the number of accompanying people, and then show the 
driver your hanica and pay the fare in cash.
