1.     Keep Updated with Your Visa Status

If your visa expires this summer (after 3 years of stay in Japan), it is the
time now to prepare for updating your visa status. It is possible to update
as early as three months ahead of the expiration date. If you plan to stay
in Japan for work, you need to extend your work visa (see  <https://www.isa.

leaving Japan within 3 months after the expiration date, you could change it
to a 3-month visa (see

you fail to update your visa status, there is a chance that you may not be
allowed to enter Japan again under the strict rules of Japan’s immigration
control.



2.     MAFGA Consultation on Saturday

With ease of COVID-19 prevention measures, MAFGA consultation at JET House
is now back on Wednesday/Friday evening (5-7pm) as scheduled in the attached
calendar. If you need to talk MAFGA staff for consultation on Saturday, it
is possible to do so either by online or coming to the office in Onohara.
Upon your request, it is possible to make an appointment 2-4pm on Saturday.
Visiting the MAFGA office may offer you other opportunities as stated in the
#3 and #4 below.



3.     Brush Up Your Japanese at MAFGA

If you want to enhance your Japanese communication skill on weekend, try
MAFGA’s TES (Try/Enjoy/Speak) Japanese class, which is offered free at the
MAFGA Onohara office on Saturday (10-12am) with a support of many Japanese
volunteer teachers. For signing up, contact MAFGA JET-Support Team.



4.     Enjoy Multi-Ethnic Meals at comm cafe

The “comm cafe” in Onohara now offers a variety of ethnic foods changing
every day. On Sundays a unique breakfast menu from different
countries/regions being offered 10am-1pm at 660yen. The lunch is served
11am-2pm at 880yen, so you can have it right after the TES Japanese class
(if you take) on Saturday. See the attached comm cafe menu calendar.
Reservations is recommended, especially for popular ethnic recipes.



5.     Seasonal Flowers Featured at EXPO Park

In June, it is going to be Japan's rainy season called TSUYU(梅雨). Under
the cloudy and rainy weather, you can enjoy the beauty of nature by flowers
like hydrangea, or AJISAI(紫陽花) in Japanese. At the Natural Garden of the
EXPO’70 Park, Hydrangea Festival is held June 4-26, featuring a variety of
hydrangea. The garden also offers a rose festival through June 5. For map
